I boutght a 97 booster and MC with prop valve still attachedto install into a 93: two questions

1) Instead of swapping out pedal rods, can I just cut and weld the 97 rod to a 95/96 rod lenght if I manage to cool the metal down right after welding? (dont want to burn up the diaphrams). Is there something I'm missing? All the writeups online seem to be done by competent mechanics/welders but they still opt to swithch out the rods.

2) the 97 prop valve looks exactly like the 93 valve that is currently on the jeep. Instead of running new lines from the old valve to the new MC, can't I just run the old prop valves hardlines to the new one? Are the threads the same? It seems like this would cut out all the tube bending and flaring .

can someone at least tell me what thread the fittings are into the prop valve?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the MADXJ article on booster swaps does have one guy who fitted a booster with a later type pedal rod directly to his jeep - IIRC, it just required a little bending of the firewall/ location bracket and minor (and careful) filing & boring of the rod end. That's certainly what I'm hoping anyway!

I'd imagine that putting new lines on anywhere within the brake system is merely a safety issue, given that you're breaking a seal on a solid part (the flared line in this case) - I'd play it safe and just get new ones fitted. Even if you had to take it to a good brake guy to get the lines put on, I can't imagine it would take more than an hour of his time to do a proper job, and hence money well spent.
