Well, after about a month, I finally got the Deer Slayer home. Now comes the fun task of tearing it down and seeing just how bad the damage really is. First order of the day will be to get the front axle out from under it and see if there is any internal damage. I've got a long road ahead of me on putting it back together so if anyone has any doner parts that they would like go throw my way I would be happy to take them off your hands. I also would like to say thanks to everybody that offered to help get it home. It just goes to show what kind of people we have in the Intermountain Chapter. Sorry that I didn't take any of you up on your offer to get the Jeep home. A friend of a friend was a wrecker driver and offered to bring it home for $50 so I took him up on the offer. I'm glad that I did because even he had a hard time getting the Deer Slayer on the flat bed. It took him about 45 min. to try to get it up there but he finally did. Then once we got it home it took him about another hour to put it in the garage and that was the part that I was worried about. I knew that we could have gotten it on the trailer but didn't know how we could have gotten it off and into my garage. It was pretty tricky. Thank you Brian R., Big Joe, and Marc. If there is anything that I can do for you just let me know. By the way, there is a standing invitation to anyone that gets bored or needs to take out some frustrations to come on over and start tearing Deer Slayer apart :woohoo:

I think you don't need doner parts...You need a doner jeep with a bad moter....Cheaper and easier in the long run I bet.

Actually I was thinking about turning it into an XJ buggy. Thought it would be fun. My son want me to paint it "Mexican Chrome" when its done. He wants me to call it the "Blingmobile"

I got a white hood you could have. :laugh3:

btw, did you see Dan's post about the 87 Limited with the D44 for $600. Might be good to swap your parts onto.

Yep. I saw it but don't have the funds to get it. I would love to get it but you know how it goes. I'd love to take the hood off your hands. Or were you going to sell it on ebay or something? If you get bored sometime come on down. I'll supply the . Danny would love to come and start tearing it down. I got home kind of late tonight. I wanted to see if I could get a start on taking the front axle out but I remembered that our buddy Robert Davis has my jack stands so I have nothing to put it on. I'll figure something out. I may need to get some taller ones anyway.

Laters..............Mikey

I've got some new tall a$$ jack stands you can borrow.
My old hood has holes in it from where my hood vents were mounted. I'm keeping the vents so I doubt that I could sell it with holes in it. It would be easy to mount up some new vents with double stick tape over the holes. I think Mike BigBear has a set that he wanted to get rid of.
Anyways, the hood is yours if you want it. :D
