little stiff in the rear end what to do?

I have a set of leaf springs that now over 10 k miles are still a little stiff for me. It flexes ok going up hill due to all the weight on the but going down hill is a little unnerving . I was wondering if I could remove a leaf to soften it up for the trail? I know I will loose some lift but its ok.

yea why not. If it has like 5 or 6 leafs, i would jsut pull one of the longer ones and see what happens. Chances are the whole leaf pack was set with a stiff rate due to the thickness of the leafs, but id imagine if youd pull one the rate may change a little. I tihnk the stiffness relies on how thick the leaves in the pack are, so if you rebuilt it with a larger amount of thinner ones you would be ok.
