center consoles swappable?

I'm curious - will a 97+ center console bolt in to a 96- XJ? I have the older Cherokee, and I'm interested in upgrading. Do the newer consoles still have the ventilation ducts to the back seat? What other options do I have?

the only issue I'm aware of is the park brake doesn't line up so it requires a little modding to make it work...but it has been done. Ask on JU

it takes more than a little modding. i would say it takes moderate moding

If I was really going to upgrade to a new console I'd save the sheckles for a tuffy, their pre-97 consoles and TJ consoles are NICE... they really don't make anything for the 97+ XJ's...

Yep it still has the heat ducts. As mentioned the e-brake mount will need to be modified. Here's one in an MJ. (foot lever e-brake)
