96 xj classic 4X4 proper use

hello all i have a 96 xj classic with 4X4 command trac. i was wondering what the proper use is when engaging and disengaging the system. thanks!!

Use it only on slippery surfaces. It is shift on the fly, so you can engage 4-hi at any reasonable road speed. To go to neutral or 4-lo, you want to have the transmission in neutral... sometimes it helps to have the vehicle rolling slowly.

Go to Jeep.com and click on your 4x4 system under the picture of the JEEP Liberty. You will get a short demonstration video.
