Transmission Identification

Ok I feel like I am gonna get flamed for asking this but here goes. I am trying to figure out what transmission I have. I have a 99xj, 4.0, auto, 2wd. Any ideas? I cannot make out the tag on the tranny. I can tell you everything about my YJ, but I know nothing about this XJ. AW4 or 43le?

Is that the only tranny option for that year? The only reason I ask is because I hear about them lasting forever, and mine has crapped out before 100K.

for your particular situation yes. Suprising though that it went out, however if the guy before you ( if there was one) didn't EVER take care of it....

well you know. It happens.

yea before me it was owned as a company vehicle for a beer company. I think it may have been ragged out a little bit.
