Maybe a little Bling Bling, but then it might work for Beezil!

It seems to be real new, just found it in a trade magazine.

About $400.00

Hey, that looks pretty damn good...but the fiberglass one from usbody.com is the same cost. I suppose the metal one would be more resilient, but given how rarely I dent my current hood, I'd rather go with the fiberglass.

It looks that somebody is finally making a hood for newer model cherokees because US body only goes up to 96 and everybody was always complaining about that.

The company that makes it, Reflexxion, doesn't sell direct to the public, you'll have to go through a retailer.

Here's one. (http://www.sporttruckdirect.com/Reflexxion_Dodge_Steel_Cowl_Hoods.html)

if someone brings up an old topic, all the smartasses will post a link to the search feature. if you use the search feature and post to an old thread, than you get $hit on for that. can't anyone do anything right without asshole forum geeks hounding them?!

I think you got this wrong. Here someone brought an old topic up and gave advice to someone who was looking for something 2 years ago. This is different from someone asking same question to which an answer could be found through a search. Btw, why do you have to go and start calling people names? All that TORX did was make an observation that it's an old thread.

2 year old thread and I still get the email notification on new posts! :sunshine:
I ended purchasing the steel cowl Reflexxion hood from an online retailer in Arizona, Stylin' Concepts (I think???) I got it on sale for $320 but I don't think you can get them that cheap anymore?
The hood is a great fit and didn't need any refitting, shaping or anything else like the fiberglass hoods usually need before mounting, just paint. I have 2 friends with $500+ fiberglass hoods on their trucks and they required quite a bit of work to get them fitted properly before they could be painted and the final mounting.
From what I understand, GoJeep's Reflexxion hood went on without any problems either.
Very nice fit and finish.
Here's mine:

I think I'll be going with the Reflexxion hood. How well does it help with cooling?

I had mine put on last fall so I haven't been through a summer with it yet.
GoJeep has had his on longer than me and has a very nice write up on it here. (http://go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoBonnet.htm) He even did some airflow testing with it under low and high speed driving conditions.

Here's one I'm working on, it's a fiberglass bolt on, the yellow is primer. It has the center indention. It almost reaches to full length of the hood. It follows about 6 1/2 inches away from the body lines on the side of the hood. I wanted one of the reflexion hoods but couldn't put that much into a hood as bad as my Jeep needs other things. I thought this might be a good alternative.

Damn, between this hood blister and flares you REALLY need to open a FG parts shop or something.

I'm still interested in the flares, btw. :)

I think that looks alright too with stock indentation. Did you buy it like that?

Hey Jeepzz and GoJeep-do you have any trouble with opening the hood without interference with the wiper blades. It looks close to hitting them everytime the hood is supported in the open position. If there is any interference, how did adjust or compensate for this. thanks

Im looking to just cut the hood all the way to the front, and raise it in the rear and weld sheet metal into the hood, Same set up..

No, I made the whole thing from fiberglass. The back is open to let heat flow.

That's the one thing I wish they would have thought through before they produced these. I believe Marcus has had the same problem as me by only being able to open the hood to the first notch for the prop rod.
The raised cowl section will come into contact with the wiper arm preventing it from opening all the way up. If you unbolt the passenger side wiper arm (right side that is for the down under mates), then it goes all the way up.
I thought about notching the hood to clear the wiper base but every time I pick up the grinder I can't bring myself to do it. :rattle:

Allright! a resurrection of a 2 year old thread! I love it. After looking at the superwhite XJ I am seriously considering the Reflexxion hood. I didn't really like it before because there were too many lengthwise accents. i am very particular. the deciding factor is the reflexxion hood is priced nicely and I know it will fit. except for that wiper arm clearence thing...hmmm

I have my bonnet supported and raised with a gas strut for the tailgate and had to just turn the upper bracket around to stop it interfering.
