Rubicon D44 locker?

I have a locker from a D44 Rubicon axle that I want to put in my standard d44. It measures out to be a direct fit for 3.54 and down gears, but I am running 4.56 and want to stay with the gears I have now. Does anybody know if there is a shim for the ringgear to use it with a 3.54 and down diff case? If not why isn't one used. I have a machinist in the family who could make one and with longer ringgear bolts I think I would be able to make it work. Anybody have any ideas?

There are thick gears available for the Rubicon diffs., up to 4.88 I believe. I wouldn't use a spacer. Its just adds more stress to the ring gear bolts.

What he said, Rubi's use a thick ring gear like corvettes and rodeos. So they run the higher ratios on the lower carrier, kinda weird. if you want to use that locker then just buy rubi gears........... :lecture:

Why does it matter? And I would venture to say its for a rearend............
