Hey everyone...Trying to get a few things nailed down here. I have been looking at the calander and the HotRod website and the weekend of the hot rods is April 28-May 1. Is this for sure when we want to go? I would like to do it that weekend again. I had lots of fun with all the cars last year.

OR do you want to do it the weekend before? This would be the 20th through the 24th. Personaly I would like to do the later weekend. I know there are some other NAXJA guys comming out the week of the 25th though 29th.

Lets get this nailed down as early as possable. The more time to plan the better the trip will be!

I have the week of the 25 + off, can't change it now.... I don't care about hot rods, the only thing I need in town is GAS.

So...Do you want to go from Monday through the rest of the week? I need a weekend plus a few days and I am sure most others do too. I was thinking 27th or 28th through the weekend of the 30th and 1st. No reason why some can't be down a little earlier.

I will be going down on Friday April 22, and staying the next week to May 1st. AAAHHHHHH the time off and to spend it in MOAB...

The car show weekend really worked out well last year. There was few people on the trails and plenty of entertainment back in town after the trail ride. Personally, I would be able to head down the night of the 28th and stay until the 1st or 2nd of May. Lets decide as reservations will need to be made ASAP if we go during the car show.

How long do we want to be there as a group? Wens through Sun? All week? Now....if I had my choice I would go the weekend before the hotrods because we have a wedding to go to on that Thurs. Although I will miss the wedding my wife won't so she will have to come down later.

So should we say Tues the 27th through Sat the 30th? Or Wens the 28th through Sun the 1st?

Yes....we will. I'm just trying to set dates up that the most people can work with. I know that most won't be able to go the whole week. So its just a matter of chosing the first of the week or the last of the week. Personaly I could probleby go the whole week.

January 17th, 2005, 08:26
Well, why not just make the "official IC time to be at Moab in April" the whole week. Then just do any raffles, get togethers, drinking contests, campfire ghost stories, s'more eating contests later in the week like Thu-Sat.

I soooo wish I could go, I have 2 big tests in school that Friday. The crappy thing is that the semester ends like 2 weeks after that.

Since I will be down there starting the 23 to run trails, and maybe a few others. we could just start the official un-official runs for the IC April run then start the official official runs of the IC on Tues or Wed.

Just a thought!

ACE

I think Wed. thru Sat. could be the official dates and anyone who wanted to go earlier or stay later could do so.

Im kind of heading that direction also....Wish my wifes stupid friend would have picked a diferent day to have her wedding though. Honestly...who gets married on a Thursday? I can see it if you are getting married in the temple or something where they have a huge demand but these two just opened a calander closed their eyes and put their finger on a date...Who does this?!?!? No one(except my wife) will be at their wedding....There is a reason people get married on Sat.
Sorry for the rant.

I have tried to convince Ryan to check into the Moab Rim camp-park, real clean, the owners are friends of mine, but it is about 5 miles south of town, so, kinda out of the way. He is going to look into to it today. any other ideas?,, they have have cabins(newer) showers, power, potable water, for those camping, full hookups., and Sue and Jim are great people(owners) wondrerful view from there...

I usually stay at the Moab rim and they usually allow open campfires, but that may not be were the IC will be head quartered, just an option

I didn't get a chance to look around town today since SOMEONE kept me too long for Breakfast. Anyway we also stayed at the Spanish Trail campground once..Real nice place...clean and fairly new....I am going to call both places and see who has the better place to host that many people or even if they will let us and go from there.

That's where I've been staying for the past 3-4 years. Sue is great and they keep the place nice and clean. I've already got my reservations there. Plus they don't mind the Jeeps.

I was hoping we could try a different campground. Joe is right, Slickground is getting pretty nasty but that's the only campground I've ever used when I'm there when I don't just camp out on my own. I'm hoping one of the nicer places like Moab Rim can accomodate us.

I tried to send an Email to Spanish Trail campground....To see if they had room for something like this but I got a invalid email sendback. So...I will try and call them and Moab Rim....They are almost next door to each other. Spanish Trail are also jeepers and don't mind jeeps.

I am coming down on Monday the 25th and staying at the Super 8. I'm leaving on Saturday the 30th. This gives me 4 full days of wheeling, assuming I don't break anything. I'm at 5" with 32's, open diffs and 3.55's. I just want to make sure that I will be able to get through the trails listed. By the time I come down I will have a Rigid front bumper, rock rails, and if they are ready, a rear bumper. I can't wait for the trip. See you all there.

For those in charge, PM me so that we can exchange phone numbers so I can call when I get to Moab.

Hey, did you get your new junk? I hope to have mine done around that time. I'll need kind of a few 'moderate' trails for a warmup and I'm up for almost anything after that....

Is this the place on the far north end of town? Right next to that fairly new hotel down by the river? I drove by there the other day....Looks like they have added a bunch of new stuff there.

I have heard this before about him being a real jerk....Not liking jeepers.
