Which selectable locker out there is the best? I'm looking for one for the rear 8.25 axle. ARB? OX? ELECTRAC? Others?
Only the ARB is available for the 8.25, and that is only for the 29 spline 8.25.

That sort of makes this poll obsolete right at it's inception, doesn't it? ;)

for people like us with the 8.25. i think OX is out of biz. to bad i think that is the best one, but most electric locks are limited slip also.

Even if you get the ARB, you'll need to find 29 spline shafts to go with it. 93' 8.25 are 27 spline.

Anything other than the shafts that would need to be replaced also? Is the cost relatively low for new shafts, or would that make it worth upgrading the axle to a 44?

The 44 isnt an upgrade. The 8.25 sits right there with the 44 and 8.8.The differences are in different areas!

If you go with the ARB go ahead and spend the money on some aloy shafts for it and you should be fine.

The 8.25 is in the ballpark if you replace the carrier, with an ARB or a LS like TruTrac. To an OEM D44 and OEM 8.8.
