I figured as much. Seems to me like you stand a good chance of having a branch wrap around the wire and ripping it out of you fender, leaving a nice gaping hole.

He looks either really annoyed or pissed. But can ya blame him? Haha. And look at his front reciever...is that angle caused by the high-lift holding the truck up?

Got my baja fenders installed last weekend, took a goofy pic with some bull horns on because I didn't have the fenders lined up enough for the bumper to fit. Got the fenders lined up better this weekend, and got the ends trimmed off the bumper to match the bigger fender well this weekend, and repainted and installed the bumper. Next is getting my 4.10 axles swapped in, then tires and....well....you know how it goes. That's my bud, Dano in the 2nd pic, he helped a LOT with the fenders.

I hear ya. We drove the Mojave Road one year...it was amazing, how Alive the desert is. Very kewl. And you are right, there were more trail systems within driving distance in SoCal. There ain't much here in Bama either. I've been up to Franklin, and spent some time wheeling around Chattanooga. Definately a different kind of wheeling over here. I've been out of SoCal since '96. And you are corrent, there was alot MORE going on out there. That's one of the reason's I won't likely move back, too many people all in one place. :jester: Not to mention the housing costs are a little disturbing....:looney:

No SYE, yet. I'll keep an ear out for issues, though. I do get some control arm rub when I turn all the way in either direction, but nothing un-bearable. We haven't flexed it out, yet, though, so no idea if I'll hit the fenders.

New guy to the forums here, I just picked up a 99 XJ sport for my DD.
Basically stock, but it's got a Volant intake, and an aftermarket sunroof(it passed the carwash test)
I haven't done much to it yet except replace the speakers and fix the hack-job stereo install that a previous owner had done.
http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/3729/1002985ky1.jpg
Not sure if I plan on doing anything to it, I've got a Scout II with 1 tons that's a work in progress so I'll probably just leave it stock or do a small lift and some better tires.

Thats what I said..... I have a built TJ...been putting more mods in the XJ recently than the TJ. Its a disease.

Thanks! It has about 6-7" of lift, waggy 44 front with a lockright and 4.88's, yota 8" rear with the e-locker and 4.88's, rock krawler 3-link, crossover steering, locking hubs, custom track bar, SYE, 35" BFG AT's for the street, 36" IROKS for the trail(both on a set of soft 8's.) The bumpers are from C4x4. I'm in the middle of building some sliders for it and then after that maybe a full belly t-case skid. It's getting there. :D

As far as the cb goes, it works fine. I typically don't try to communicate with the space station however. Usually just within a few miles. I did it that way so it wouldn't hang up on things, works well too.

better than i expected, i had to winch myself up a few hills but i was surprised at how much traction they gave me. as long as another vehicle broke the trail ahead of me i was fine, they really impressed me.

3. Fender trim, Bushwhacker flares and bump stops.
4. PowerTrax locker for the rear.
5. Full leaf spring RC 4.5" (replacing the AAL)
6. Detours USA slim rough cut bumper with tire carrier.
7. Either a ARB front bumper, or Detours USA XJ backbone.

1999 Cherokee Sport 4 door. 100,411miles when bought. So far the only mods made have been H4 headlights, JVC CD Player, Rockford Fosgate Amp and Subs (out of the 97 I had). Saving money to do things right the first time around, Lift, wheels, tires, SYE, CV Drveshaft, Gears, possibly lockers as well, along with the possibility of a paint job.

Where can i get some LED's for my dome light? :D Me Likely!
Oh I love these. A bit pricey though.
I got these from http://roundeyes.com/ but someone recently did an article where he replaced ALL the incandescent lights in the interior of his XJ with LED. I recently ordered some BA15 replacements for the lights under the dash. I'm hoping they come in today.
Once I replace the kick panel lights (BA15's) then I'll replace the "map" lights and that will be it. At least for interior. The site, link below, also has LED tail lights. I like the ones that go in the tail light hole and expand to 3 inch diameter!
Here is the article with lots of pics...
http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=933802&highlight=autolumination
It is hard to photograph but my XJ looks really cool when the red lights on from the bottom and the white/blue interior dome lights shining through the window tent. Looks like red blue-white. I have my RED LED lights hooked up to my Remote Keyless Entry system, so they all come on when I unlock the doors with the remote.

Those were popular back in the 80's and most Advance Auto's carried them. You can probably still get them new. Check your local laws, they are illegal in VA last time I got pulled over with some on my Bronco.

After drooling of some of these other rigs (EricsXJ, Mudderoy, rocknxj, etc) I figured it's time for me to post a few of my rig:

Nice! Custom roof rack? I like that area you live in too. Lots of trees. No trees at the mall. :(

Yeah, I a pretty sure it's a custom roof rack. It's got coil spacers between the rack and roof, lol. It seems to work well, and the rack is plenty sturdy. I've still got a lot of work to do on her, and I can tell I have an obsession!
The trees are only nice when the leaves aren't falling all over my damned yard :(
