axle shafts, FAST info needed

aight guys. one of my buddies bent his axle shaft in his 86 xj. i have my extra 35 out of my 88 xj to give him but then i also have 2 axle shafts out of a TJ 35. are they the same axle shafts??? instead of giving him a hole new axle can i just give him the TJ shafts? need 411 FAST.

early XJ's had non C-clip axles. The TJ axles most likely have c-clips
