My sons xj, stock coils are sagging real bad and he has a chance to buy a set of tj front coils which are also stock. Will these fit, and if so will it lift it any?
89 xj bad springs 02 tj new springs.

From what I have heard. The TJ springs would fit, BUT, the XJ would be one inch lower than original. Rusty's has 3" lift springs for $100.

Try the folks over at DC4WD.com, I bought a set of 4.5" RE1310 (XJ) springs for $103 plus 23 for shipping, they have 3" also. If you want to go cheaper than that buy a BB set for the front 1 3/4" spacers for the top of your existing springs.

As Jason said, the TJ springs will fit but will lower the XJ about an inch from stock height.
