View Full Version : stereo wiring again....89 limited

looking through past posts..i am getting conflicting info on what wires go where on the stereo...i.e...power wire .....acc wire..ect....for my 89 limited..i have the jensen 6 speaker deal and was wondering if there was a definate answer to what is teh batt...and what is the acc wire......
i checked and think i foudn the batt wire.....its 12v all the time.....when i check for the acc wire though ig et nothing on anything with the switch on.....what is my problem..
OH and in running new speaker wire to the doors...i found a wire that has been cut that has what looks like a factory lable on it that says "power brakes"...its blue...what is this?
guess i need to find me a fsm huh?..lol...

well as soon as i posted i went out and looked aroudn and poked around with the multimeter and found my wires....feel free to delete this post..lol..sorry for wasting space....i do need to know about that power brake wire though..what is it?

Blue should be for your radio antenna. It supplies power when the radio is on to move the antenna up when the radio is on and down when it is off.

the "blue wire" i am talking about i found at the drivers side door in a bundle...it has been cut......it is blue and has a label on it that says..."power brake".....looks factory..but i was wondering why would this be cut and what is it for?

I wonder if that's a pigtail for electric trailer brakes.

thats what i was thinking...i dont know...like i said agian it looks factory....i dont know..i have a hitch....its a big sucker too....
i dont knw what size hitch came on tow packages or what options i may have had if thats what it is....i dotn even know how power brakes for a trailer...is it all electric??????

Correct- the wire from the electric controller mounted under the dash (you have to add it- not OEM) to the trailer connection is blue for the electric brakes on my 1990.
