wont start

1988 xj. wouldnt start, went under hood got flustrated and grabbed ahold of c 101 connecter and yanked on it back and forth, jeep started right up, does this mean anything to anyone....jim

Yes -- it means you are also a candidate for the replacement CPS wiring harness update. This was discussed in another post earlier today. It's a 2-wire harness that runs directly from the CPS into the ECU, by-passing the C101 connector entirely. Dealers have (or can get) a kit that includes the wire and the CPS -- the kit costs less than a replacement CPS alone.
