I looked at this a while back. I had just gotten rid of my trooper with it's reclining rear seats and headrests which my two teens loved on long trips. Figured you would need to fab a stepped mount to hold them but it is or should not be that difficult with a welder and some steel. You would also need some reinforcing plates under the floor, again no big deal. I was looking to move the troopers rear seat setup to the XJ but it was about 8" too wide IIRC.
I also seem to remember some one here either did it or was planning on doing it but do not remember reading any success stories.
Also if my measurements were right you should even be able to recline them.
