Just finished my oil and noticed my coolent level is low about an inch below the add mark what type do you use , my XJ is the 4.0L 6Cyl. and should i drain the old stuff and put some in or what?

If its green use a low silica green type. dont mix the greens with the orange lifetime stuff. If it hasent been flushed or changed in the last 2-3 years ya might want to do so.Just make it a 50/50 mix or buy the stuff premixed.use distilled h2o not deionized water to mix with it.

How long has it been in there, can,t remember then it,s time to change it.
Just use any of the green anti-freeze types.Use a fast flush additive if you want, pull the heater hoses and flush with the garden hose to clean the crud out of the heater.
A new T-stat and gasket from the dealer is <$10.Be sure to burp the system(remove all air) so you don,t overheat .
