Flywheel differences

Hi all,

Will be swapping a 97 wrangler 4 banger into my 87' MJ that currently has the 2.5 but only running on 3 cylinders! Just wondering if I need to take the flywheel from my current motor to put on the 97' Are the flywheels the same, could this cause problems with the CPS?

oh ya 4x4 with 5 speed!

I think you will find that the older flywheel has a different number of notches that trigger the CPS. So my bet is you will have to use the old one if it fits.

Anybody know how many notches are on the newer style flywheel? I dont have the motor where i can get to it, im in the processes of moving!
