Hey folks. Been a good while since I've been able to post here due to Real Life Issues (tm), but some good has come of all of it... I'm in a position where I'll be ready to start on the major work on my XJ next month. Finances willing (I'm still keeping my fingers crossed), it'll be SYE'd and sitting several inches higher by mid-February at the latest. On to the actual question...
The lift I'm likely to go with is the DPG OME 3" kit. There are several reasons for this, but the main one is the ability to preserve on-road ride to something close to stock. Right now, 'stock' is synonymous with 'bump stops sitting on the back axle', but with the JKS discos included in the package I'm pretty well sold on it as an initial all-in-one solution. Since this is also my daily driver, I'd really like to keep it as civilised on-road as possible.
I will be adding an extra leaf to the kit and going with stiffer springs in anticipation of adding bumpers and skidplates. The last thing I want is to have to uprate the suspension a second time a few months down the road due to extra added weight. The short-term stiffness this will bring is an acceptable tradeoff in order to only have to do the job once.
So, after searching and reading through a few threads... Is anyone running this setup and able to give me an opinion on it? Any recommendations on how to spec out the heavier-duty springs? FWIW, I'll be going with Skid Row plates underneath, and C4x4 double-tube rails with the non-winch front bumper and rear tire carrier bumper.
