short to long arm conversion?

I have Teraflex UCA and LCA's on my 97 cherokee and a 5" lift. I was thinking over christmas break I could extend my LCA's to convert it to a long arm suspension. I was thinking about a fabbing a bracket by the transfer case crossmember to hold the extended LCA. To extend my LCA I thought I could cut the axle side of the adjustable arm and weld in a tube that sheaths the cut ends. Is there more to a long arm suspension then just doing this?

Most LA kits attach the UCA to the LCA to make a radius arm type set up.
The biggest supposed benefit is to lessen CA angles for a better ride, but really isn't necesary until you have a tall lift.
