Scott, I just want to thank you for your funny, off the wall comments. You know just how to bring a smile to our faces with your crazy posts. You make such a contribution to our chapter, I don't know what we would do without you.

On the badlands webpage, it says a roll bar is required for vehicles. Does the hard top on the XJ meet this requirement?

Johnny-

Can you hook a Jersey brotha up and bring me a pizza and/or cheesesteak?

Thanks!

I think I could do that, although it will be cold when I get there. Unless you prefer the grease trucks at rutgers :chef:

I was kidding, Johnny, but thanks anyway. I'm really not supposed to eat that stuff with my high cholesterol. But enough about getting old before my time... Ah, the grease trucks: I've never personally tried them, but they are legendary. I went to Rowan U in Glassboro (there were several awesome hoagie shops nearby and I put on more than the freshman 15,) but I had friends at Rutgers, having grown up in South Brunswick.

IMHO, North Jersey pizza is better, but South Jersey has the upper hand with cheesesteaks & hoagies.

I agree with that. My mom actually lives in South Brunswick right near 5 corners. All I can say is you don't know what you missed at the grease trucks. My mouth waters just thinking about it. :wierd:

5 corners, as in Dayton, where Georges Rd, Culver Rd & Ridge Rd (aka Monmouth Jct Rd) meet?! I lived in Culver Station (the housing development behind PNC Bank) from '88 until I went to college in '97, and my parents moved down to Florida in '02. What a small world!

Yup in Dayton. It is a very small world. Look forward to meeting you at winterfest :laugh3:

See you in chat?

Sorry, I forget it is even available since I never use it. Am I not entitled to my own inside conversations? I can't follow half the crap on the MWC forum, but I don't complain.

Just a friendly reminder: The Badlands requires their flag be flown about two feet above everyone's vehicle. They sell 6 and 7 foot flexible fiberglass masts with their flag mounted at the top. At the base is a 1/2 inch threaded bolt and nut. You will need a place to mount this. Trying to find a 1/2 inch drill bit the day of the event is no fun!

Just a quick question, if I was to decide to go to this event as an "event attendee" would it be ok to go in my TJ? The XJ is in some serious need of skid plates....lucky me got one without any, not even on the gas tank. Last year, at what became "Carnage fest", my brother tagged along with you guys. Maybe this will refresh some memories, he kept talking about his brother's "Mighty Rubi"....and his Jeep looked like this

and was titled "where not to put your hand...."

Is this open to only members of NAXJA? I just got my cherokee last thursday so I havent done any modding yet (Starting this weekend with some fabbed bumpers and a new exhaust). If it is open to non-members I will come since it is on my spring break from college. I would have to use my wrangler though. Is that fine? I may also see if my friend wants to go that has two XJ's.

OK guys, not only am I a newbie, this will be my first time out wheelin in an "approved" area. My first Jeep (pretty lame considering how old I am)

I plan on being there Friday and most of Saturday unless something breaks of course. My rig is also my DD, so I must be somewhat cautious. I'll be sleepin in the back of my rig, keepin warm by a fire!!

Have my RE 3.5" lift, disco's, adj trackbar, BFG 31X10.5's and my rock bumper. CB, recovery straps, even a flag! Besides the obvious barley & hops sustenance, what else do I need besides having my head examined??

Help guys, I'm breaking my 4X4 cherry here and need some advice!!

answer: YES!!! Rock Rails are a good investment. Also, front and back attaching points for straps.

Lawn Cher'

Tow points are required by NAXJA. There's a list of required equipment around here somewhere...

My new front bumper has mounts and D-Rings. Bumper is bolted to unibody as well.

I forgot to mention I'll have my shiny new complete Craftsman's through 1/2 drive, SAE and Metric! Hopefully I won't need them on the trail!!

Sliders are NEXT on my list for sure. I need em just to climb my big rear into the rig!! I'll bolt em AND weld em. Ought to be able to handle my 325+ lbs.
(So NO visions of bowlingballs come to mind, I'm about half way to 7' tall)

I'm not FAT, I'm "undertall." :laugh3:

This side pic is without my new bumper!

I had another question. The flags that they sell at the park need a 1/2" hole to bolt in correct? Thought I saw this somewhere on here but I could not find it.

Yeah, they have a mounting stud on the bottom... I just duct tape the flag pole to my radio antenna.

Okay, cool then. Just wanted to make before I got out there. Did not want to have to sit out on the fun because of a flag :wierd: . Thanks
