I would like to apologize to the people here feel who I was attacking someone or 'highjacking' his thread. I, like Ted, wheel my daily driver. When I'm not wheeling it, my Jeep often transports my lovely wife-to-be, and her even more lovely children. I depend on the structural integrity of my rig. I place my life, and the lives of my loved ones in it on a weekly basis. The insurance company totaled the rig, because they no longer deemed it safe for the roadways. They are paid to make these decisions, and they're quite good at it. To advise him to go with adjustable control arms(to correct the pull in the steering), or simply bracing the unibody, puts him in harms way. You have corrected the symptom, but the problem still exists. Wheeling is far harder than driving down the roadways on the unibody, especially one whose inherent structure has been compromised. I was looking out for the lad, and I'm sorry if it came across any differently.
But now I'm the asshat, nice.

insurance companies don't care wether or not something is safe or not, they total vehicles when the amount needed to adequately repair it approaches 80-percent of its market value....
Being a friend of Ted's, I would have been WAY more harsh on the tub of goo if he did decide to keep it. I would have spanked that ass as hard as i could.

Now see? If you'd have worded your first response like you did this one, you wouldn't have been mistaken for an "asshat".
I understand that you say your first and only intent was to offer your opinion that was focused on Ted's safety -- but the words used in your first post clearly communicated that you were pissed at Ted for posting his question on several other websites. There simply isn't any other way to interpret what you typed in your post.
I'm glad to see that you do have the decency to admit fault -- to some degree anyway -- and that you are concerned about what the NAXJA family thinks. First impressions are important. Keep it clean and anger-free bro and you'll be welcome here anytime!
-- And quit using that dadgum "next" smiley, it diminishes your character by insinuating that you don't really care.
And again, let me emphasize that MEMBERSHIP has it's benefits!

Actually my insurance claims adjuster on the last 2 wrecks I had told me that if the repair is 40%-50% the value of the vehical it gets totaled! ANd he worked for State Farm. That is when I asked him if he could sell me all the wrecked jeeps he totaled! He said no they go to Dealer auctions, bummer!

Yeah, those insurance guys are odd like that. When my ZJ burned and was totalled, they would not let me buy it back:( I need to find the VIN number one of these days and see where it is now. Some poor schmuck probably has it and is unaware :)

Something is up here. I NEVER replied with a *REMOVED* rainbow............never. I would sincerely like to know how that got there. No joke.
Just checked and the nice admin changed the next symbol to a *REMOVED* rainbow...................fantastic............rea lly makes me want to spend my money here.
*Admin Edit: Name calling, bashing, etc... is NOT tolerated. You may not agree with what a group of people do, or how they live, but NAXJA is not the place to make those statements*

I am not one of the moderators on this forum, so I don't know if the moderator did -- or could have -- changed it. That's all I've seen for that post. If, in fact, a moderator changed it, is it possible that what you originally posted was not suitable for a family-oriented forum, and the moderator elected to replace whatever you posted with something less flame-bait-ish?
I'm not saying that's what happened, but it's a guess. Your response here suggests that you were not fully aware of what you wrote in your first post on the original thread, so perhaps you don't recall exactly what you wrote here. If it was antagonistic (I'm not saying it was, I didn't see it), that's probably what happened.
We have been subjected to flame wars in the past, and we don't like them. Therefore, the moderators exercise a certain amount of discretion in trying to avert them.
As has been noted previously, if everyone plays nice we can all discuss Cherokees and Comanches and have some fun. The bottom line is that we expect everyone to be polite, or at least civil.

And with the wise words from Eagle, this thread is now closed.
Nothing to add to what Eagle said, other than: If a thread is closed, it was closed for a good reason. Do *not* start another thread to continue the discussion.
