Heater Switch Burning

My heater switch burned up and so did the plug-in. i pulled a switch and plug-in from another jeep and the plug-in has melted slightly. still usable though. anyone ever had this problem? thinking of rewiring the blower motor and put it on a toggle switch so it doesnt burn up again.

Had the same problem with my wifes 01 Wrangler. Also have a friend who is having the same problem with his Liberty. My wifes 01 is on its 3rd heater switch assembly (3rd motor too for that matter). Seems to be common, at least on the later models.
