Odometer quit working

Recently on my 93 my odometer quit working, all the other gauges are fine. Does anybody have any ideas what couldve caused this or whats the matter before i go pulling the dash apart?
 
when i banged my speedo sensor on my tcase with a large stick, the speedo and the odo stopped working. but if thats the case i dont know why your speedo would still be working. still, just something to consider
