Trimming Bushwhacker Flares???

Has anyone cut-out the inside of their Xj bushwhacker flares?/ and if so how much did you leave...i was thinking about cutting it down to like 2.5" or so(mainly for the front)....any feedback or experiences??

Mine are cut down..Probably half the material on the inside is removed to allow for tire clearance on my 35's front and rear.

I cut alot off mine before they even went on. I trimmed right before they bend downward, so the entire flare is about 3" shorter. I used a dremel with one of those roto tool bits that you see on tv.
