now that i have gotten the 3.5" lift installed in my XJ it is time to rework the YJ. i know we are not here to discuss YJ's but i am looking for some suggestions from you guys who drive the XJ's.

this is what i have:
'94 YJ 4.0L 5spd, w/ 2.5" springs & 3" body lift, 33' BFG's,

this is what i want:
eliminate the springs and body lift, esentially rebuilding the suspension completely, also need to address the axles, both are stock w/ no mods. i would like to run 35"+ tires & would like to lock up the axles as well as upgrading the axles.

this is what i need:
suggetions on suspension systems, what works and what doesn't, etc, etc.
suggestions on axle upgrades, any thoughts on floater kits as well
suggestions on lockers for the front and rear

any info on this would be greatly appreciated as i am looking to make some mods this winter and would like to know what you all have found works and doesn't work.

my pockets do have bottoms in them so there is a budget, but i do believe in doing it right the first time, spend the money once not twice

thanks much.

check out by searching Pirate - dont ask that question there...

Id say keep the leaves and do an SOA that will net you about 5" plus your 2.5" springs putting you at about 7" higher than stock... that oughtta be enough to stuff 35" tires.
check out the tech on www.jedi.com (http://www.jedi.com) he is a friend of mine in Lincoln, NE and did an SOA on his YJ and swaped in an 8.8 in the rear...
I dont know much about YJ's but Ben on www.jedi.com (http://www.jedi.com) has one and is a really great guy, so e-mail him and ask him. He has done a boat load of research on jeeps and mods, so e-mail him and he should be able to point you in the right dierection....

good luck

P.S. - try "Other Tech" or "Off Topic"

good god 7 inches on a yj is enough to clear 37's easy.

You wanna keep it stock width or full width... If you are staying stock width do a spring over using grand waggy front springs on all four corners along with the waggy axles. If you are goin full width do spring over with waggy front springs on all 4 corners again.

The key is waggy front springs are 7 leaved, and flex and last a good deal longer.

You may wonder why i know about yj suspensions, well one cant help but research them when he's gettin ready to go leaves on an xj
