brakes?

91XJ limited, 4.0l, full time 4wd, no ABS as far as i know.

the brakes were working fine, but the other day the pedal went almost all the way to the floor and caught right near the end of its travel.

now the BRAKE idiot light stays on all the time, and the pedal is nonexistent until the last 1.5-2" of travel, where it catches and stops me slowly.

im thinking the master cylinder has gone bad? there are no leaks, and this just happened out of the blue. fluid levels are fine.

Pull off the rear drums and look for wet pads. Other than that, yeah, I would suspect the Master Cylinder.
