I'm surprised such an "old" XJ is still in service. I see Police XJs here in NY but they are all 97+. Myabe that one has very low miles.

Come on have you guys ever drivin from Va to DC? DC has ZERO local government budget. All the roads in VA are sweet, then as soon as you hit the DC line. Crash, a huge pot hole. For years they used to drive caviler station wagons as cop cars. They were all dented up and stuff, It was quite funny to see one. This guy in his nondented XJ is one of the lucky dc officials. His XJ still runs!You think for it being the nations capital, the roads, sidewalks and general condition of stuff maintained by DC would be a higher classed than the rest of the country.

The U.S. Park Police take very good care of there equipment, so it is no surprise to me that it lasts. And DC roads were all repared to perfection about 5 years ago, then the .com craze caused idiots to tear up all the streets six months later to lay fiberoptic cable and the utility companies never fixed their cuts correctly. Now so much of the budget has been dumped into securing Federally owned property that things are going to pot again. The city gets taxed by the feds but gets no congressional representation, go figure!

This cop is obviously tasked to cover the White house, it is right behind that building, the Old Executive Office Building, now the Eisehower Building, formerly the War Department Building before the Pentagon was built. So at least the feds sometime pick up a little of the slack.

The parking enforcement in my little burg of cheeseland is done by a pair of RHD XJ's. Almost make you feel a little better about getting a ti...................NAH!
