SYE and what else?

I really have to do an SYE to rid the old girl of the vibes above 65 MPH. I already had the shaft balanced, tried different degree shims and dropped the TC. In all that, the TC drop seems to net the most positive results; the vibes moved from 50 MPH to 65 MPH. I am hoping that with an SYE I could remove the drop from the TC and regain the lost clearance.
Many here recomends the hack-and-tap as a low budget solution which sound great to me. On the other hand I want to do it once and forget it. I am leaning towards replacing the shaft. If I do that what else should I do while inside the TC? 4:1 low, larger chain, gear instead of chain and so on and so on? I am not limited by dreams but by budget. Where could I get some good parts? TIA

Teraflex makes the 4:1, about $1,000 min IIRC

I think their having a free shipping deal right now too...

if you want to make the angles in the u-joints a lil better, a short shaft might be a good idea...about $375.00

here is a quick fix idea -
do you have new u-joints with the lift? u-joints broken in at a different angle will be more prone to vibrate at a new angle...
