I really have to do an SYE to rid the old girl of the vibes above 65 MPH. I already had the shaft balanced, tried different degree shims and dropped the TC. In all that, the TC drop seems to net the most positive results; the vibes moved from 50 MPH to 65 MPH. I am hoping that with an SYE I could remove the drop from the TC and regain the lost clearance.
Many here recomends the hack-and-tap as a low budget solution which sound great to me. On the other hand I want to do it once and forget it. I am leaning towards replacing the shaft. If I do that what else should I do while inside the TC? 4:1 low, larger chain, gear instead of chain and so on and so on? I am not limited by dreams but by budget. Where could I get some good parts? TIA
