I just spoke to John Stewart on the phone and he was unable to
provide any details about the person who desecrated the cemetary at
Los Coyotes. He stated that when he published his post on the
Pirates Board he was 'simply stating what others had told him'. He
not only did not have any first hand knowledge nor had he spoken to
anyone who had such "first hand knowledge". He claimed to have
spoken to a member of the tribe but couldn't or wouldn't give me the
name of that person nor could he confirm that that person had any
first hand knowledge of the incident.

I told John that, even if the person who did such a thing was a
JustRuns member and even if he had first hand knowledge of the
incident, he should not condemn an organization of 460+ members for
the actions of one member. John's post was clearly a condemnation of
the organization as a whole. Even though he didn't identify JustRuns
by name in his Pirates post, he did identify us by our Motto which
is well known in the 4WD community.

I told John I resented his accusation. I believe it is cowardly.

John is an officer of Cal 4 Wheel (Environmental Affairs Officer) as
well as a member of TDS. Many of our members are also members of one
or both of those organizations. I'd like to see as many of our
members possible contact both Cal 4 Wheel and TDS to voice our
resentment of John passing an unsubstantiated rumor and publishing
that rumor without evidence. Certainly our resentment of his
condemnation of our group because of allegations against a member.

Let them know that JustRuns condemns irresponsible 4 wheeling and we
also condemn John Stewart for publishing a vicious rumor without
proof. Also for blackening the reputation of the Group for the
actions of 1 member.
