View Full Version : Uh, tweaked unibody

Ok so I dropped off a ledge and on to a rock with my rear bumper which is apperently a lot stronger than the unibody, and now I have a nice crease just behind my rear quarter glass and a small crease on the frame rail inside the drivers side wheel well and my bumper is pushed up against the hatch on the drivers side. I measured my wheel bas front to back and diagonlay and it was fine. Should I do anything to try and fix it or is it a lost cause? I picked up 10' of 3x3 angle to sleeve the frame rails. Is it worth it to get it put a a frame jig or should I just sleeve it and bend the bumper back down so it looks normal?

I did the same thing to mine while in Moab. Most everyone there said they had seen it done, or had it happen to them. They left it, so did I.

I did something similar but I wrinkled the front unibody. Still havent figured out what I am going to do.

Mine's wrinkled around the gas filler door, came down hard off a ledge onto the rear panel that hangs down between the bumper and rear fender and mashed it all up and tweaked the rear quarter panel a bit.
Hasn't been a problem so far.

Ive got a wrinkle on both sides at the bottom of the D pillar. No worries.

I just smacked mine into a tree on the side that had the crease. That disguised it nicely, can't even tell the crease is there now :gee: (under that big tree dent).

Add more trail dents and it will cover it nicely. I don't know if there is a whole lot you can do. My back doors don't open anymore, so now I have the 2 door I always wanted. To be serious, I don't think there is much you can do to fix it, If it dosn't hurt anything I would not worry too much about it.
