The title pretty much explains it. Just curious. I talk with at least one person on here every day and was just wondering what others do for money to support their XJ habit :) Drug dealers can simply put "self employed in the pharmaceutical industry" and I won't tell a soul:D

I recently started up my own business that is slowly, ever so slowly, growing. Hope to be able to afford health insurance and a steady paycheck soon. Another few months and I will have been in business for a year, then I will be able to bid on some state and local govt contracts that I can't do now.

But since I haven't found a job doing that yet, I'm unemployed until I find a job flipping burgers or some grunt job until I do!

I'm currently a Facility Manager for a bulk mail house, I am accountable for 3 buildings and all the crap inside of them to the tune of just over 250,000 sq. ft. I have been a lineman for Ameritech and Warner cable, a commercial garage door repairman, worked the docks at Yellow freight and eventually drove semi over the road, and ran the mailing dept for a major book printer and binder. Prior to all of that foolishness I was Para-rescue in the USAF until I broke my ankle/leg in a jump, had to change jobs(no longer qualified to jump) and became a medical material specialist, yes, this is a Gov't paid drug dealer, a trade I should have stayed in, having seen what they make nowadays, but I'm too old to take the risk. And I've always been a car guy, bought my 1st car(65 Impala wagon, shorted 26", with a hipo 327, it did bumper draggin wheelies) when I was 13 and I still ahven't learned to buy something that runs to get it home, but that's the fun of it, make it unique and do it cheap.

Scotty Mac. I AM a Bostonian and the last time I was in the Garden (not that Yuppified Fleet Center) I was home from the service on leave and took my dad to a Bruins vs Canadians game. LOL that was fun - We had Cheep Seats, and the sweetest little old blue-haired lady in the row in front of us was more profane towards Montreal than my Sergeant Major was towards us troops. It was more fun listening to her running commentary than any sportscaster could ever be. (she was probably Irish too LOL)
I REMEMBER A LOT OF FLAGS HANGING FROM THE CEILING THOUGH... I wish I kept my old Bobby Orr, Derek Sanderson, and Jerry Cheevers shirts from the late 60- early 70s... That was Tough Hockey back in those days. I liked it alot when the Celtics would play and the ice would melt underneath LOL...fogging out the hoops games.
Too bad about those Canes though. One year wonders eh?
As for Irish Jokes,,, :dunno: My given name is Sean (not Shaun or Shawn TGFT) and my maternal Grandma (German by birth) moved from SE England to Ireland after all her British kids were raised.

Unfortunately, you'd be mistaken.
What I actually do is take a bunch of data from disparate sources, meld it together, massage it, put a nice spin on it, and then make policy recommendations to various state boards and the legislature. Then my agency gets sued and I am forced to spend a lot of time defending my conclusions in court. Happy day! Not. :(
All of my dealings are with fisheries and water resources, the latter of which is in very short supply in California.

I manage, sell, fix, recommend, stock, replace, install, throw, tag, mra (material return auth.), look up, and u.p.s. parts. If its a DC part I've probably done one of these things to it!

I'm the used car manager at a large Ford dealership. I buy and sell cars all day, and oversee our used car repair shop that reconditions the vehicles that we put on the retail lot.
I'm also the guy who tells you how little you'll get for your trade in. :)

I'm a helicopter pilot. Basically entails being a taxi driver, bus driver, heavy equipment operator, sky-hook operator, general labourer, gas station attendant, meteorologist or just sitting in a hangar waiting for good weather. The term "hurry up and wait" gets used a lot. Nice view from the office, though :)

depressing?? try photographing young, nicely dressed, good looking girls all day long, that's depressing, knowing that I'm an old, fat, bald guy and can't do anything bout it!!

I partied with JMU on a weekly basis in my youth (somewhere around 1985 or so) as well as being locked in several nites down the road at a certain "girls" college. :D :D

Thompson, you should come down and introduce me, I need a summer fling this summer:angel: although I prolly know at least a couple of them, or at least know of them.

P.S. Do you know Daniel Armentrout??
thompson97
May 29th, 2003, 18:24
i used to now a couple of armentrouts that had a half-pipe in h-burg. i can't remember if it was daniel or not. i think he had a brother named andy though.
anyway... you definitely should have come to jmu for the ladies. but, it seems to me that half of 'em come here from va beach anyway... so you probably know what i'm talking about. but you get to see 'em in the summer and with far fewer articles of clothing.:D

 Yeah, I know what you're saying. I party up at JMU on occasion, and run into girls that I know from HS all the time.
Daniel Armentrout is going to be a Senior this year I believe. He's got a green XJ on 32 MT KMs for street and 34 LTBs for 'wheelin, that's why I thought you might know him. Although those could be his brothers with the halfpipe, it sounds like them....
