Hey gang,
Ok I pulled my trouble codes and was hoping to get some better understanding on what they mean.
Sorry if this is long but here is what is happening. My check engine light comes on here and there. Just out of the blue no set reason. I just did 400+ mile run on Friday and came back Sunday. On the way home she would lose power all of a sudden. When I would give her gas she would back fire threw the air box and stumble but then clean up and run ok. At one point I picked up a fuel additive and threw it in the tank and filled it up. She ran great for a while then started up again about an hour or so later. I finally made it back.
Here are the codes I pulled off of here doing the ignition key thing.
12 = direct battery input to PCM was disconnected with in the last 50 key-on cycles
42= an open or shorted condition detected in the auto shutdown relay circuit
21= oxygen sensor input voltage maintained above the normal operating range
Maybe a year ago I had changed both o2 sensors ( got them from Napa ) and the catalytic converter ( got that from Rustys )
During the hole time the she was not running right the check engine light never came on.
Can some one give me some ideas? Maybe explain a little better what those codes mean or what I should look for?
I got the descriptions for the codes out of a service manual.
