Socal to Texas is still bad, remember the best place to be in Texas is dead center, that way no matter which direction you head, you are leaving. And what is a tine ?

congrats Richard! You've escaped from Kalifornia! You are gonna be right in the middle of S.E. and NAC. Go with both.
Too bad, I can remember when SoCal WAS paradise. I got out in '76.

I was there once, the establishment I was at got raided by the ATF!
We had to sit there for three hours while they broke up some kind of gambling thing up stairs.
What a bunch of HICKS!
The dancin'girls had to put there own money in the juke box!

You know I have lived in Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, and many other places. The only time I was in fear of hearing dueling banjos was when my wife and I moved to New Hampshire 2 years ago. We walked through our new hometown and couldn't wait to get back home.
Fullsizexj, What part of WV are you heading to. I have family all over that state. Not sure if they still runn them, but the coal trucks will dwarf your XJ, and they dont back down! Come accross one on a 1.5 lane road , and hope you drive well in reverse. :D

Well you picked the one spot that I don't have family near. We are primarily from Clarksburg, Weston, and Morgantown. My cousins allso have a small camp on the river near Buckhannon.
St. Albans is probably the closest good sized town, and Huntington isn't too far away.
My wife and I just missed a chance to pick up the last 60 acres of my familys land near Weston. The neighbors bought it out before we found out about the sale. Nobody thought we were interested since we live in New Hampshire.
WV is a beautiful area, good luck with the move.

Better sell those MTRs now. How close are you from Knoxville, TN? We have a ORV park called windrock. This place and Tellico are the most rock you'll get in the south, and they're both really really good.
BTW: I was thinking about my trip out to shredder canyon last year. One image I have stuck in my head is your younger son shooting that potato cannon, turning back to all of us with BIG eyes and an ear to ear grin before he yelling "SHIT!!" :laugh3:

Both North Atlantic and Southeast chapters cover West-by-God Virginia. Take your pick. Or join both -- not sure about SEC, but at this time NAC doesn't charge any extra dues to be part of the chapter.

About 1.5 hrs away from Beckley. I used to live there beside Advance Auto Parts in an apartment. Milton sucked imo, nothing to do (didn't have 4x4 then). About the coal trucks, most of the drivers have alot of trouble keeping the truck between the white lines (scary experience). Raleigh and Wyoming Counties are worse though, lol. I've been wondering what chapter covers WV also.
