I just go an invite for $125 from the CJ people. The reason is that they also called to tell me that CJ california has been cancelled. CANCELLED! aaaawwweeee mmmaaaaannnn! Thats not cool. But a Wummer. I already had the time off. Does anybody have a cargo plane to come and get me, the Fam & the XJ? It would be a bit of a drive otherwise. I don't my money back, I want to go to camp. Pleeeeaaaassse.
Well thanks for letting me cry on your thread.

Hmm Hunter...how to describe??? :dunno:
Look for a hippie white kid with long curly hair in a red XJ...
If he offers you an easy line, go somewhere else. If he has a camera aimed at ya...aim straight for him. If he says your XJ will fit tween them trees, trust me it won't.
LOL Hunter rode shotgun/spotter with me for VA4WDA fall poker run up there at Oak Ridge. I don't think he's been the same since.

NAXJA BOD has discussed buying a C130 that would hold a bunch of XJs and PAX. We could pick up folks and shuttle them to the events...for a nominal fee.

I'll have to say hi to hunter today. Too bad they don't have a autotrain going coast to coast like they have from VA to FLA but I'm not even sure some of our XJs wou fit in it.

Well what a great event to go to. It was hot as heck a couple time but I had a blast guiding and being involved and can't wait till next year. I have to say the bigest PITA and funnyest thing all wraped up in one was the liberty renegades withe tier wonderfull running boards. I lost count of how many had to be removed on the trail since they go bent back in to the rear tires with very little effort from the rocks. Theres not like coming out of the woods with a pair of them zip tided to my roof like i was out hunting lol. They said that it will be back next year and should be bigger than ever since it will be the 10th one they want to have a huge turn out. As of right now westarting to get ideas and plans to ad more trails and improve the existing ones. NAXJA should look in to getting in volved some how if its only just trough working as guides sine we're all part of united.

Had a Liberty behind us on trail 6 Fri afternoon. When we stopped at the first down hill obstical(sp) I asked where his tow hooks were,"Don,t have any"-- O great I thought ,He only had a problem with one up hill section and that was because of the rutts,he made it on the third try.If it would have been wet ,It would have been a long day------

trust me As a guide i was so thank full that it didn't rain Camp jeep only requiers tow hooks on jeeps running the harder trails but soom of the eaiser trails ened up being realy bad and since they didn't have hooks it made our jobs that much harder wer going to make sure every run has some wrecker hooks to make thing easier when winching. its very rewarding to be there and teach and look after people who are new to wheeling and show them what a jeep can do and talking people though rough spots. There were a couple of realy cool things i got to see.. one was people actualy using thier WJs and beeing inside with their AC on they didn't seem to mind beating on them and not being afraid to keep thier foot down to make a tough spot. another was a friend was thier with her little TJ so i wnet on some rides with her and with only the swaybar off and her 225/75/15 GSAs air down she made all the hard trails except for one realy bad rock gardens thatvery few jeeps even hevily modified like some scramblers for JPs off road who compete couldn't make But one of my friend who is a guide make it i his XJ on 37s.but seeing her smile when she made it is what guding all bout since she was the one behind the wheel.

Well my buddy John was a guide so I went with him. Man was it hot. We ran trail 12 it was suposed to be an easy trail. 1 river crossing was cool but when the water was over the top of the stockers tires people were a little worried but the mud section was a killer. Every one was asking were we got all the mud from. We straped about 15 people threw the mud. Once people saw every one with mud from trail 12 we filled up quick. They had to change it a few times because people could not get threw the easy trail. Man was it fun though. Even though I was not an official trail guide I helped them out when asked. Even the sunk Grand who hydroed the motor. 03 with 3500 miles. Pulled the plugs and got the water out and she ran like a top after that. You really have to love the 4.0. We were running a green XJ with 32's and had a blast. Dont forget is some thing happens to you tell the trail guide they will call chris or carla and they will tell the safty patrol and the safty patrol will come and get you.
LOL

CJ 03 sounded like a good time. unfortunately the closest i got to camp jeep was pounding beers at the hotel the guides were staying at, work and a bad phone system at the holiday inn express kept me out this year. i do look forward to next year when i can plan a little better and hopefully CJ will come back to this area.
oakridge has a major advantage over any other camp jeep venue and thats the well developed group of trail guides, trails, and of course chris and carla who keep everything on the up and up no matter what happens. they really do deserve a lifetime achievement award or something on the same level!

hey hunter its a shame i didn't get to meet you there, I was looking forward to seeing a bunch of the NAXJA guys and did meet a few. Your right Chris and Carla deserve somuch for what they do and it pissed a buch of us off when the VP of jeep was saying all of these name and how importan some of these people were and didn't even come close to saying chris and carlas name. It will be back next year so I am so excited but its going to be alot of work to get there but when your there its simply increidable.may be i'll see ya at the annual ride. And one that i tried to do the most was every XJ owner i got to talk to I talked about NAXJA and that when it came to XJs that it can't be matched.

We Had a great time at CJ 03 I apparently had horrible timing I saw some killer NAXJA rigs but never found an owner, and we were a little tardy to the staging area so I didn't get to do much wandering around. Talked to a lot of great XJ'ers and suggested they look up NAXJA, as you guys have saved me a ton of time, money and headaches. Thanks to all the trail guide the trails were great. Look forward to meeting everybody trying to figure out how to get to Moab this fall.
