SYE play ?

while i was underneath the XJ checking my driveline angles, i noticed that there was some play in the output of my SYE (off my 231). not just rotational, but a tiny bit of lateral. is this normal or is something loose up in there?

what brand of SYE...mine did this as well (AAHDSYE). took the D-shaft off and got about 1/2 turn on the retaining nut. fixed the prob. this has happened a couple times in the past three years. LockTight

or you might have some worn out bearings...

same exact model... is there a torque spec, or just turn until it's "tight"?
i'm still a newbie w/ the wrenches... how hard is it to pull that CV joint?

I can't remember the exact spec, but I'm thinking around 100 ft/lbs.

Not sure what your asking. Four bolts on the flange? Or four bolts on the back of the yoke?
