Aight, so i was in a tight parking lot space...and a firebird parking too close to me. I pulled out and aparently my rear 35" tire decided to climb up on this guys left fender on his firebird. Soooo i gotta get this guys shat fixed. Just wonder if any guys on here would know a fair price that it's gonna cost me to fix it. I know the fender it gone...it looks like i might have pushed his bumper down on the corner. So i was just wonderin if you guys have an idea of what it's gonna cost for Left fender+painted and maybe a bumper(i seriously doubt his bumper is trashed) he's gonna get an estimate so i'll see, i'm gonna call around to some body shops on monday so i can get an idea. But in the mean time just wanted to see what ya'll thought....
Oh yeah before the dude came up i snapped some pics...so i'm gonna try to post them.

You must be so proud.
I think I see the parking line and it looks like he's within it. Being an owner of a big vehicle, you should know how to drive it.
Afterall, it was your "rear 35" tire" on the 'ol XJ.
If you can't navigate out of a parking spot, maybe you need a full-time spotter.
How much it costs? Maybe you'll get lucky with someone else who's run over another Camaro's fender, but it seems like you're just trying to show off with your post.

As far as the arm is concerned, I heard that it's ok to use pipe because all the forces are along the axis of the arm. Is That correct? Or do I really need to use Moly. 'Cause I really can't afford the moly right now.

perhaps a demotion in tire size would be appropriate in this case. but i should be the last one to talk i once slid into a parking lot (it was icy) in my old YJ and i put a dent 1.5 inches in diameter and maybe a quarter of an inch deap and a 3 inch long scratch on a nissan sentra, those repairs cost me 600 bucks. if it were my friebird, chinese food would be an appropriate payment for the little bit of sheet metal damage that acutally occured. you could always offer to do it urself, body hammers, bondo, fiberglass and rustoleum are great things. By the way i just became a NAXJA member and im a pretty big pr**k

I was in an accident in a parking lot in michigan. stupid woman gabbing away on her cell phone. anyway when i called the police to report the accident they told me and i quote "If it was on private property and it was because it is a store parking lot you must figure it out between the drivers. Neither of you are responcible for anything of the others." The insurance wont pay out a dime with out a police report and there isnt one so i had to dropped dime and get the whole thing fixed myself. the other ladys car was totalled. She called and said it was going to cost me $4800 to fix her 92' rusted to the hilt regal (only worth $1200 would be my guess) and that she had a lawyer on retainer and if i didnt pay this matter would be settled in court. I laughed and said see ya there. she never did call back. why should i have to pay because she ran the stop sign and because it happened on private property I could have hit her on purpose and not been held responcible for any moving volitaion. I could be charged with vandalism or somthing similiar if that was the case.

Takes too long to run it through the court system, and appeals really tie things up.

Tonight we had a little fun with an abandoned car left in front of our workplace. Its been sitting there for a month now. One of the guys I work with finally found out who the owner was and he gave him the car earlier this week. But did the MF move the POS? Nooooooooooo!
The car has no tags... isnt registered...etc..
Tonight after closing I got into the XJ and we pushed that POS out of our lot and down to another lot. Ended up breaking out all the taillights pushing it. And denting the rear trunk hatch and bumper. LoL!
The guy that to over ownership is an arsehole and no one likes him. If he asked if I pushed it I will tell him yes ... and if he wishes to settle it the old fashion way I am more the happy to take his offer. I wont take him to the ER afterwards... he can crawl.

:twak: what you should have done is call the cops or the city. AFAIK almost every city has some sort of a code that deals with such a situation. If they don't they would have been at the very least able to advice you what could be done or should be done.
Now while the original problem that started this whole thread was an unfortunate accident (or so we hope) what you did was totally irresponsible and it gives 4wheelers and jeepers a bad name. I hope that the owner of the vehicle in question gets this resolved in a proper manner: in short that you will be held acountable for your actions and that you will be man enough to stand tall while doing so and accept whatever happens. I sincerely do hope that it will not result in any violence especially instigated by you. Furthermore if he comes looking for a "man to man" solution I again hope that you will be man enough to stand up and acept the responsibility for it without letting it go to what you're suggesting.

there was no registered owner... it was abandoned by the guy who originally made the purchase because it broke down... he said if it is still here tomorrow have a junkyard take it away... that was a month ago... we finally got around to saying we were going to call the police to have it towed... when the guy in question said he wanted it..... he does repos on the side and was able to get the car lot that sold the car to the other guy... they gave him the title straight across for free..... now this guy works for our company but at a different location.... he said he would be back for it ... never came back... soooo we moved it...... I didnt go monster truck on it like I wanted to.... and this guy is a real card.... he called and whined about it this morning.... one of the other guys said it was moved... he whined about that.... I told him to tell him "I" moved it... which he did and that was the end of his crying..... This isnt a garage for broken down POS's. He has a fricken tow truck.... he can tow it from the other lot... we have had it here long enough.... and if he doesnt like it he knows where to find me. Other then that I could give a flying phawk about him or his new POS.... if it was out there another night the guys wanted to play monster truck on it.... and yes I did LMAO when the tail lights busted out.

The first dude should have just stepped on the brakes and waiting for the folks in his way to move on rather than cut the corner and run the car over BUT earns points for stopping and admitting it.

1) All I broke was a taillamp.... thats because my bumper sits higher then the cars.... the rear bumper was failing off to begin with... as for dents in the trunk... today I noticed they were rusty... so its old......
2) As for someone elses property.... he stated if he didnt come back then we could have the vehicle.... its been a month... We tried to help the guy out and fix the car.... but he decided to leave it on our property....the other guy we work with got the title.... from a shade tree car lot.. that got it from an auction.... I feel zero simpathy for breaking a tail lens.... guy owns a tow truck... he should have towed it when he got the title... which he btw has yet to go to DMV and register.
3) Did I laugh my ass off when we moved it... You're dammed straight... as did everyone the following day... Does he know we moved the POS falling apart rusted out car that doesnt run? Yes but I told the guys to allow me to take full blame and he can speak with me... which he chose not to. And it takes at least two people to move that car where it ended up. If he wants five bucks to go down to pull your own parts auto salvage to fix the lens he can have it... other then that he can kiss my Texan ass.

I guess I'm just dumber than I often appear on these forums, but I'm having an awful lot of trouble figuring out how, if dirtbag number 2 has a TITLE to the vehicle, you can claim there is no registered owner.
What do you think a TITLE is, if not a conveyance and certification of ownership?

Oh get with it, Eagle. If there was a registered owner, it would have been wrong for him to move the car. Therefore, the guy with the title is NOT the owner, but he IS an arsehole.
I bet you're so old fashioned, you even take responsibility for your own actions.
