Has anyone found/ or looked for bolts that would replace the factory hub bolts, with a female torx pattern or hex pattern that would sit more flush to the back of the knuckle. Broke another axle last weekend, and almost could not get a couple of the bolts off. http://www.freepichosting.com/Thumbs/421559972/6/600/450.jpg
not the worst bolt head

Try www.mcmaster.com
I don't remember what size that bolt is, but you should be able to measure and come up with a replacement with a hex hed.

Is there a Nut and Bolt Supply in UT valley? That's where I would go, or fastenal engineering, also Bolt Supply. You could try lowes. As far as convenience goes, lowes has the best selection of Grade 8 hardware.

Except that it is metric, 10 or 12 mm, (I don't remember which) and Lowe's is probably not gonna have that.

Since they're metric (for some reason, no real surprise there...) "Grade 8" is meaningless. However, I'd make sure to get 10.8 class bolts for the hubs.
Suppliers? McMaster is nice, but their website is a PITA. Fastenal will have pretty much everything you're likely to need, and you might want to check ARP - they have a decent bulk selection, and I'm pretty sure both of those guys will do a "low-head" bolt that will give more room for the axle shaft. Something to think about...

By now you may have damaged the pattern, but I can only assume that what you have really needed is a good socket!I have never had any problems using a 12pt-1/2" drive Craftsman socket to get the hubs out!
