Alternator Goin' Crazy

I put in a new alternator a couple weeks ago. Well a odd times, when I first start it up I get no charge from the alternator, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, seems kind of random. But after the engine warms up, or about a half hour or so of not working is suddenly starts charging. Any ideas?

The parts house gave you a POS. I'd take it in and have them bench test it.
