I'm about to order the RE1801 SYE kit for my `95 XJ with 242 case. My question is, If I have a TJ or XJ front driveshaft, can I cut it that to length and use it as my new rear driveshaft?

Anybody done this?

Thanks -Neal

I,m guessing that this a hack&tap kit,if so then the flange in the kit will not be drilled to the same bolt pattern as the front DS out put.
It is a flange to flange mount. The RE driveshafts are good and to cut ,weld and fuss with a front DS modified to fit the rear would not be worth the savings in cost if there were any IMHO.
