i have around 4" on my 99 and had no vibes before 4.56's were installed. now at around 60-65 i get vibes coming up through the floor around my feet. is this more likely an unbalanced shaft making itself noticed, or is it probably bad driveline angles made worse by the higher speeds? also does anyone know what size bolts i will need to do a t-case drop? length? thanks and i know this has been beaten, i just wanted to ask specifically.

yes
I had the same issue when I installed the 4:88s. The driveshaft's spinning quite a bit faster, so any angle or unbalance issue is magnified.

Yup, it will feel different. Pull the front shaft and take it for a spin and see what happens.

After my full width swap and my 5.38s i get this "funky gear slippage feeling" in the transmission upon braking.... You can hear it and feel it in the manual shifter...go figure. You guys have ruined my DD. :roflmao:

just found out my upper arm has a worn out bushing and it is loose enough to wiggle by hand, could that be causing the vibes. gonna try removing the front and driving around, maybe someone could tell me how to do that :dunno:

That's very possible. At the very least you'd have some weird wobble effect.

How to do what? Remove the driveshaft? Eight bolts hold it on, four on each side. You'll need an 8mm wrench on the TC end and the axle end are 8mm also but a ratchet will make that end go faster. As far as the bushing goes, hammer it out and hammer the new one in. I did it on mine before installing the axle and it was easy. Might be a pain still installed in the vehicle.

yeah i wasnt sure about the driveshaft removal, didnt know it was just 8 bolts. well i was looking around under my jeep and i was checking for other loose stuff and i grabbed my tie rod and i could twist it with my hand, that cant be good can it? i have no clue why it is moving, bad tie rod ends? is there somewhere to tighten it? the tie rod is the bar that runs parallel to the axle at the bottom and has the stabilizer on right? sorry for the wordy post, i just need some help so i can get ready for this weekend. thanks for all the help

OK this changes things a bit: before you go and pull the driveshaft fix things that are broken/loose.
1. replace that bushing
2. where is the tie rod twisting? is it twisting on the threads? if so that means that the nut/bolt that holds it tight is loose and you should adjust it.
3. if your tie rod is loose how is your alignment? you can check it using a tape measure.
After you got all that taken care of then see how it feels and if needed look into pulling hte driveshaft.

its not twisting at the threads, its twisting at the ends where it atatches and where the grease fittings are. how do i fix that?

Well to a certain point there is some movement to be expected. You can do 2 things:
1. grease them up
2. take a torque wrench and make sure that the castle nuts are tight enough (remember to remove the cotter pin before doing so).

thanks i'm gonna try those two things out, its pretty loose. when i back up and stop i get a good bit of noise and clunking from the front. i am hoping this is what it is, my control arms on the right side feel tight, and that is where the clunking is coming from mostly.
