would it be possible to use another driveshaft (one without the double cardan) in the front of the XJ? what negative would this cause? it seems like the double cardan is somewhat touchy with angles and with a regular shaft it seems that caster and pinion angle might be better realized. just a thought...

How did you come up with that?There is no way to match the angles since the front output shaft is aimed up about 4-5*.A DC shaft can only get fairly close!

I was unaware that the front output shaft had such an incline, I was just stumbling around the internet and realized that many other 4x4 applications use a "standard" driveshaft with a slipjoint in the front instead of a double cardan.
