I want to take out my inch block and put in a full length and a little bit smaller spring in its place. Anybody think there is a good chance this will bring me up higher than the inch block? I just want to raise the rear a little bit. Thanks, Earl

I haven't updated that writeup yet, but adding one stock XJ leaf will settle to about 1" of lift, and two stock XJ leafs will put it at about 2-2.25" lift.

I refurbished an '88 Laredo last year. I took a pair of main leaves from a wrecked high-mileage 89 and cut the eyes off, then used them as full length add-a-leaves. I'd say I gained 1-1/4" gross, but because the vehicle was a bit sagged it ended up sitting about 3/4" higher than "stock." Looked good and rode very well.

One of the guys in the North Atlantic Chapter did the same thing with a 2000 XJ. Obviously, his springs were new, and the "donor" springs he cut apart were also newer than the ones I used. He gained abut 1-1/2".
