Ok, I have a 95 XJ. The clutch pedal is REALLY stiff. To the point where my knee hurts whenever I drive it. Whats wrong, and how can it be fixed? Also, the pedal has about an inch of play in it, mabey more. How do you adjust it? Or is it something else? That's about it for today, beside the incident wehre one of my brakes got stuck. Gonne take it to the shop tomorrow becasue ti needs an alignment anyway, but I'd like to solve the clutch problem myself.

Couple of ways: first look for leaks, kinks in the line look for leaks in the driver side floor area up under the dash. Check the master cylinder fluid level, colour (is is murky or does it have black pieces floating in it) Usually the slave starts leaking which should be fairly obvious when you look at it
