jeep model splits

What year did Jeep change the interior of the xj? My buddies MJ is a 90 and I like the interior. I looked at a 2000 and don't like it inside as much as the 90, so what year did it change so i know what years to look for? Thanks.

96 was the last year for the older body and interior style
