Need a Jeep Swap Meet

Didn't there used to be someone around this area that had a swap meet? Maybe we should start one....I need to sell a bunch of stuff and I know a few more of us that have more then our fair share of old parts....
Just something to ponder.

I mean it is already a yearly thing and why not involve all other types of rigs?

"TBA" usually falls on NAXJA weekend in Moab, this year that would be Oct 9th.
A better date for an XJ swap meet would probably be when there's more of us in town.

4 wheel Parts in SLC is having one today. It includes everything not just Jeeps but I'm sure a lot of Jeep owners will be there.

Looks like we still need to do a lil more co-ordination between groups..maybe let 'em know for next year.. granted, 30 rigs or so, might not be that big of an impact..but..it's still an impact.

I just don't get the guys that do the shows around here....The Mepco show is always the weekend before Easter which in my opinion is REALLY stupid.

No that is the Correct date, (NOVEMBER 20th) The U4WDA website is wrong and they haven't corrected it yet...Todd said he tried to get em to change but they haven't yet.. That is the offical date set that I got from Todd Adams who is putting on the show. Remember NOVEMBER 20th

Seems like no matter what we plan as a Chapter, there is always a conflict with another event. So what is it, the sand dunes or the DATC show and swapmeet on 11-20-04?

The U4 Fall Convention is on 11-13 in Vernal, if folks aren't attending that, we could hit the dunes that weekend and then the DATC show the following......or bag a NAXJA IC run for November?

Another thing to consider about DATC, do they mind that we bring our junk with us to sell at their show? How much room is there inside (or will it be outdoors?).

Most of my stuff is at Mepco in SLC...JR made custom front bumper, 4 33's with about 3k miles on them, (and the spare that's never been used), dana 35 with new brakes and drums and things like that. dana 30 with new brakes and gear in it. Basically, everything I put on in the past 4 months and turned around and had redone. Yay. They'll try and sell it for me, and throw that at what I owe, I guess. It'll go cheap.

Our November event dates were set at our Sept Chapter meeting, to which we only had 6 members attend..........if you don't show up to provide feedback, you can't complain about the decision. We can't plan in advance if the U4 event dates aren't accurate either, the DATC show wasn't even an issue for Nov because the date on the U4 site said Oct.
We're doing a shop day in Nov on the 6th so that doesn't work either. We've been trying to keep our runs on the 3rd Sat of the month so folks can plan for them.

Bottom line is, do we want to go to the dunes in Nov or the Jeep show?

I'd prefer a dunes run a little later -or- earlier in the year when the sand has a little bit better footing. (I hate soft dry sand :farmer: ) But then again, I'm not an expert on Nov sand conditions.

Either way maybe that is just another FUTURE Idea for people to consider planning now on doing another swap meet around SPRING CLEANING time? I think Spring may be the PRIME time to do a Swap meet.

the dunes might still be soft and dry in nov., unless we get alot of water and some freezeing conditions. the sand needs to be wet a good 4-6 inchs deep to really drive with out getting stuck every few feet, unless you run 12 paddle sand tires; which changes everything. i think we should do it later on. Just my Thoughts. :speepin: "GOT SAND"
