QUESTION for Engine Swap Gurus

Will a Jeep NP231 Transfer case bolt directly up to a DODGE 4x4 auto trans, if that dodge came equipped with an NP231 t-case also?

What I am looking to do is swap a 360(or 318) engine and Auto trans into my 87 Cherokee...CHEAPLY.....

I know that the newer Dodge pickups have the Front output shaft on the driver-side, like my XJ does, but if I can keep my Jeep T-Case, it's one less thing for me to buy.

Cheap and big motor swap don't go together. I am sure you will find that out.-------Kyle
