Come on down!

The Tug Palomar, my uncles boat picks me up at 6am tommorrow.. (YUK!). We then head for Pier 66 in Seattle. We should arrive ~3 to 5pm, depending on whice route we take.
I am the Engineer, so will spend much of the trip in the engine room, but will try to take as many digital pics as possible.

We will have an open house, as will other Tugs and boats. Anybody in the area, come on by.
Saturday, we compete in the races.... get to wind that huge diesel up... woooo hooo. The machine is quite something to see. ~10ft tall, 20ft long. No tranny, it is direct reversible. Start it in forward to move ahead, shut down, switch the cams, and start it in the opposite direction to go astearn.

We depart Seattle for home Sunday morning.... probably with a hangover... lol.

Here is some info on the engine: http://www.devereuxbooks.com/html/volume_ii__engines_afloat__fro.html

Awesome! Read the Waterways Journal and listen to some old John Hartford records for me.

You could stick some Jimmy Buffet discs in that computer, that'll keep you humming while you're elbows deep in grimy grease.
