stock wheel backspace

I have a 94' Xj with factory steel wheels and was wondering what the stock wheel backspacing is. I am going to be installing a 3.5" lift and 31's and was also wondering what backspacing I should get when I order new rims. I want to run 15x8's . Thanks in advance.

and it will be 5 1/4"

You can run 31x10.50s on the stock rims with some rubbing on the lower control arms. I've been driving an MJ that way for about 4 years. Some people shim the steering stops but I never bothered.

If you're buying new 15x8 rims, look for backspacing around 4-3/4" or 4-1/2".
