airtubes/ cone filters

has anyone used a airtube with a cone filter???
did you notice any power gains??
What type is it?




i was thinking of buying the rustys airtube and a K&N air filter. i was gonna make my own heat/ splash guard for it so it would be more like the K&N FIPK

I have Rusty's with the 6"x6" (or whatever) cone filter. Noticed no power gains, but my XJ whistles now. Only did it to free up some room under hood.

It was dirt cheap and added not only power but "smooooth" and fuel economy to boot.

i have a K&N FIPK kit. very little gain, but K&N said only 5hp gain. the only advantage to a kit is EPA sticker. making one would be cheaper, you can really hear the intake sucking air now, also any other mod later would see extra from the filter.
